Supposedly a book on the symbolism of numbers, and the cross-fertilization of ideas amongst different cultures and faiths. And yes, the book manages to look at a large range of ideas, from a large range of cultures and faiths. According to the preface, this book is an expansion on a 1951 book by a different author. The first seven chapters address an interesting range of topics related to numbers and mysticism, and were well worth the read. The second part of the book (starting on p41) is titled [...]

Lots of information, but at times it comes across like a long list of trivia bullet points, rather than a structured narrative on the subject of number symbolism throughout history.

One recommendation: Don't read the Indonesian version. It's badly translated.
